Post relocation, our clients often discover much of their IT equipment has become redundant. Surplus PCs, printers, hubs, switches and servers now need to be disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. This has been highlighted by current legislation issued by the Environment Agency concerning disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), which came into force in January 2007.
CRL offer to manage your redundant IT equipment. This involves an audit and collection of equipment, which will subsequently sorted into categories of suitable for recycling and waste.
Whether you the client are considering a relocation or an upgrade, CRL will collect your old equipment for recycling. Any equipment deemed not suitable for recycling will be disposed of in a manner complying with the current UK legislation and directives.
What the Environment Agency says about WEEE
|
"When businesses produce waste, they have a range of responsibilities. These include complying with the requirements of the Duty of Care, and if they´re producing hazardous waste, they may need to register as a producer under the Hazardous Waste Regulations. |

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation introduces new responsibilities for businesses and other non-household users of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). This includes businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, when they dispose of their electrical waste. These organisations will need to ensure that all separately collected WEEE is treated and recycled."
