Site survey for our client the south west who are moving their server estate to the astonishing GCI Smartbunker. Hidden somewhere in the Lincolnshire countryside lurks GCI’s best-kept secret, the Smartbunker; an underground datacentre. Acquired by GCI in 2011, the Smartbunker was formerly the location of RAF Skendleby Chain Home Low radar station, that operated during the Second World War between 1941 and 1945. In 1950 the site was developed further by the RAF, with the addition of a two-storey underground facility excavated to house a ROTOR ground control intercept station that operated during the Cold War.

As ever, Computer Relocations strived to accommodate the revised date and the move was successfully completed three days later. Things must have gone well because they’ve asked us to undertake another move later this week.

You could not have been more helpful and flexible even with our change of dates at late notice. In addition the feedback about your driver and transport facilities was really positive from our engineers. If we need to move more kit again, we will be in touch. Great service, very many thanks.’
